REVISION OF EARTHQUAKE INFORMATION

at 8.40 pm 12/09/2007

This is a revision of the earthquake information issued at 8.30 pm.

A moderate earthquake has occurred with these revised parameters:

Time of Occurrence : 8.21 pm on 12 September 2007

Coordinates : 3.0 South 100.3 East

Location : Southern Sumatra,233km Northwest of Bengkulu,Indonesia. 627km Southwest of Melaka

Magnitude : 5.2 on Richter scale

Assessment

Please be advised to stay away from the beach for the states of Perlis, Kedah, Perak and Penang

This will be the final information issued by the department for this event unless there are further developments or additional information becomes available
